Kenneth C. "Buck" Perkins, 74, of Vermilion, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Buck was born April 7, 1944 in Sandusky, OH, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 32 years moving from Berlin Heights.
He was a veteran of the US Army from 1962-1964.
Buck worked for as a truck driver for various companies before retiring in 2012.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria and a former member of St. Matthew's in Vermilion. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, working on cars and home repairs, and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Perkins (nee Myers); son, David Scott (Carol) Perkins; daughters, Karen Hafer, Angela (fiancé Aaron Robinette) Perkins, and Anna (Willow) O'Rourke; step daughters, Kara and Kate Goodwin; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Jim and Bill Perkins; sisters, Gaye Zellner, Christine Waldron, Gloria Peck, and Shirley Cottrell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beatrice (nee Strickler) Perkins; infant son, Kenneth Clyde Perkins, Jr.; son, Thomas Charles Perkins; and brother Thomas Perkins.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 4-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 10:00 am followed by a funeral service at the funeral home. Pastor William Mugnolo will officiate. Burial will follow in Rugby Cemetery, Brownhelm Township.
