Obituary of Marjorie Mayer

Marjorie Lorraine Mayer (nee Quigg), 92, of Vermilion, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Amherst Manor.

She was born July 23, 1921 in Whiting, IN.

Lorraine married Edward Hintz in 1941 and they had a daughter, Edis. Edward died serving during WWII and Lorraine and Edis moved to Vermilion to be with her parents.

She remarried Merril Peasley and together they had 4 daughters and a son. Merril passed away in 1981 and she remarried Arthur Mayer in July of 1988.

Lorraine was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion, and enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling to visit family, and baking her famous banana cream pies.

She is survived by her daughters, Edis Hite, Jane (David) King, Deborah (John) Sobieski, Trudy Schilens, and Susan (Mark) Schnitzler all of Vermilion; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her three husbands; son, William Peasley; grandson, Michael King; parents, Edward and Gertrude (nee Blubaugh) Quigg; brothers, Leroy and Edward Quigg; and sisters, Margaret McKern and Patricia Coleman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at 12:00 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St. Vermilion. The Reverend Ron Brickner will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St. Vermilion, OH 44089.
