Tommy Green, Jr.

Tommy Green Jr., 73, of Sheffield Lake, died Monday, December 24, 2018 at Cleveland Clinic-Richard E Jacobs Health Center, Avon after a lengthy illness.

He was born December 22, 1945 in Logan , WV and had been a Sheffield Lake resident for the past 10 years moving from Cleveland.

Tommy was a veteran of the US Army serving his country for 17 years and serving two tours in Vietnam. He was an excellent cook and was a Mess Sergeant in the Army.

Tommy worked for several factories including MarshAllan, Cleveland after serving his country.

He was a member of New Haven Baptist Church, Sheffield. He enjoyed building and painting bird houses, yard work, paint by numbers kits, and fishing, especially fishing on Lake Erie.

He is survived by his sisters, Dottie Plavchan of Sheffield Lake and Debbie Thomas of Fremont and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Marie (nee Queen) Green.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at the New Haven Baptist Church, 5290 French Creek Rd., Sheffield, OH 44054. Pastor Ray Lovett will officiate. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, OH on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
