Obituary of Austin Knittle

Austin Tyler Knittle, 20, of Vermilion, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at his home.

He was born June 17, 1998 in Lorain and had been a life long Vermilion resident.

Austin graduated from Vermilion High School where he ran cross country and track.

He was a veteran of the United States Army where he was a specialist and qualified to be a sharp shooter.

He was working for J H Routh Packing Co., Sandusky and had also worked at Burger King, Huron while he was in High School.

Austin loved reading and studying history. He also enjoyed being in the outdoors, the beach, riding his bike, his dogs and cats, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his Digger Dog. He will be missed for his wit and humor.

He is survived by his wife, Faith (nee Canter) Knittle; son, Varric James Knittle; parents, Lowell E. Jr. and Angela (nee Mullins) Knittle of Vermilion; paternal grandparents, Janet and Lowell Knittle, Sr. of Vermilion; his maternal grandfather, Gary (Carol) Mullins of Bonita Springs, FL; several aunts, uncles, loving cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jacob Daniel Knittle in 2000 and his maternal grandmother, Betty Chandler.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Cooper will officiate. Military Honors will be presented by the Vermilion Veterans Council just prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
