Mark E. "Skipper" Hevener Jr., 51, of Vermilion, died Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a complication with diabetes.
Skipper was born October 21, 1967 in Elyria and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 20 years moving from Lorain.
He graduated from Firelands High School in 1986. He had worked for the Metropolitan Housing Authority as a Maintenance Man for several years.
Skipper enjoyed fishing, being in nature, and working with his hands. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his father and step mother, Mark "Skip" and Sandra Hevener of Huron; sister, Angela (Robert) Marsh; half brother, Dan (Maggie) Wells of CA; step sisters, Carrie (Michael) New of Wakeman and April Rister of Huron; step brothers, Chris Ritter of Berlin Heights; and nieces and nephews, Kayla, Lindsey, Maddy, Brandon, Ashley, and Amy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Corinne (nee Brandt) Hevener in 2012.
Private family services were held. Inurnment will take place at Crownhill Cemetery at a later date.
