Obituary of Ralph Palmer

Ralph Leland Palmer, 85, of Sheffield Lake, died Monday, June 8, 2020 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center after a short illness.

He was born May 17, 1935 in Reedurban, OH. He had been a Sheffield Lake resident for the past 13 years moving from Vermilion and Texas.

He graduated from the Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.

Ralph was a Southern Baptist Minister for over 20 years. He was the Interim pastor for the Venice Road Baptist Church in Sandusky for the past 3 years. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Vermilion, and Milan Baptist Church. He worked for many years at the Christian Jewish Foundation in San Antonio, Texas. He enjoyed studying God's word, reading, telling jokes, watching old westerns and spending time with his two cats, Dusty and Dee Dee.

He is survived by his wife, Rita (nee Moncrief) Cooper Palmer of Sheffield Lake, his step children, Paula Cooper of FL, Gloria (Gary) Armstrong of New Hampshire, Melody Lewis of Elyria, and Stephen (Ginger) Cooper of VA; step grandchildren, Griffin Armstrong, James Miskov, Rhyan-Dennis Cooper, Tyler Cooper, and Reese Cooper; step great-granddaughter, Mariah Miskov; and his brother, Raymond (Kay) Palmer of Massillon, and two nieces, Joyce Robinson and Brenda Hoffman.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth; his sons, Matthew and Mark Palmer both in 2018 and his parents, Harry and Thelma (nee Reed) Palmer and his nieces Pamela and Cheryl Palmer.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 5, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave, Vermilion, OH 44089.  Private interment will be in Milan Cemetery, Milan, Ohio.
