Obituary of Scott V. Hackenberg

Scott V. Hackenberg, 61, of Vermilion, passed away at his residence with his loving family at his side, Friday, April 2, 2021. He was born June 16, 1959 in Lorain, OH and had been a lifelong area resident of Vermilion. He married the love of his life April 4, 1981, and immediately started their family. A true family man, his wife, children, and grandsons were his world and he was theirs. Nothing was more important than providing for his family and making them happy. He worked hard for 35 years, traveling the country as a truck driver for Mills Van Lines, then finishing his career with a job he loved as an owner/operator for Reliable Carriers Inc. Scott was a fun loving man always ready for adventure. He enjoyed fishing, boating, riding his Harley, playing with his grandsons, and meeting people. Always willing to do anything he could to help anyone that needed it. Scott was one of a kind, anyone who met him knew he was genuine and would be a friend for life. He is known to have taken many under his wing leading them back on the right path. Scott loved with his whole heart and was extremely loved in return. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten by all that ever knew him. He is survived by his wife and the love of his life for 40 years; Victoria (nee Swartz) Hackenberg of Vermilion; children, Scott V. Hackenberg, Jr. of Vermilion, Jennifer M.
