Laura A. Strick (nee Wood), 63, of Vermilion, died Saturday, May 22, 2021 at her home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born October 4, 1957 in Lakewood, OH and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 50 years moving from Lakewood where she grew up.
Laura worked as a teacher's aide for Vermilion Schools, primarily at the Middle School, retiring after 20 years. She loved being a coach for the Speech and Debate team at Vermilion High School as well.
She enjoyed gardening, counted cross stitch, knitting, quilt making, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, David Strick of Vermilion; sons, Tyler Eavenson of Vermilion and Brian Strick of Vermilion; and her brothers, Scott Wood of Lorain and Mark Wood of Vermilion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Leighton and Barbara Ann (nee Lewis) Wood.
Private graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
