Obituary of Roberta J. Rose

Roberta J. Rose (nee Rhines) passed away on November 22, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona following a stroke. She was born on March 29, 1926 in Jackson, Michigan and was the daughter of Philip and Ethel Rhines. She was a graduate of Jackson High School and worked as a bookkeeper after graduation.

She met a handsome young Navy Pilot, Sidney Rose on a blind date after WWII. They were married a few years later and moved from Michigan to Indiana to Ohio with their young family to follow his career with the Federal Aviation Agency.

"Bert" lived in the Sedona, Arizona area during the last nine years. When she lived in Vermilion, Ohio she was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Lorain Community Hospital, also had a small quilting business with her daughter Dianne and was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Vermilion. Bert loved her flower gardening, cooking and spending time with family. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino to use some of her "Bert's Fun Money".

She is survived by her daughters Kathy Keefer (Dave) Sheffield Village, OH, Suzanne Ballard (Jeff) Cornville, AZ, Dianne Koinis (John) Cottonwood, AZ and son William Rose (Karen) Perrysburg, OH. Grandchildren Bradley Koinis (Chelsea), Zachary Koinis (Adriana) Stacey Shelton (BJ ), Allison Ballard, Matthew Bliss and Michael Rose and Great Granddaughter ElowynKoinis.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband of 64 years, Sidney I. Rose in 2012, Sisters Wilma "Billie" Kerwin, Frances Miller and Nancy Lincoln and Granddaughter Marissa Rose in 2007.

A private committal service will be held in the Spring of 2022 at Maple Grove Cemetery.
