Obituary of Clifford Allen Parsons

Clifford Allen Parsons, 49, of Vermilion, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus after succumbing to a stroke.

He was born March 4, 1972 in Lorain, OH and had been a lifelong Vermilion resident.

Cliff graduated from Vermilion High School where he was a starting freshman on the first Vermilion Varsity Soccer team in 1987. As an adult, he continued his passion for soccer with several clubs, including the Concordia Club and Firelands Sunday Stumblers. He also coached youth soccer in Vermilion for several years.

Cliff had been around the family marina his entire life, but decided to make it his career in 1990, and stayed in his hometown which he loved. He eventually became the CEO of Don Parson's Inc. and Parson's Marina. He was also one of the Captains of the Mystic Bell.

Cliff was a member of the Vermilion EandR Church, Vermilion Boat Club, and I-LYA Junior Sailing where he worked as the repair boat for junior sailing regattas. He enjoyed playing soccer, fishing with his buddy Chris, sailing, and playing video games. He will always be remembered for his contagious smile, infectious laugh, hard work ethic, and of course his love.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Alicia Cico-Parsons of Vermilion; sons, Tyler Reid Parsons of Vermilion, James Blake Parsons of Vermilion, Clifford Allen Parsons II of Vermilion, and Aiden Adams of Vermilion; parents, Donald and Karen (nee Sheets) Parsons of Vermilion; brother, Nathan (Amy) Parsons of Fernandina Beach, FL; Evil twin sister, Christy (Gene Koeth) Parsons of Vermilion; Father-In-Law, Dave Henry of Vermilion; Brother-In-Law, Anthony Cico of Vermilion; and his nieces and nephews: Mira Parsons, Graham Parsons, Savannah Kuntz, Dylan Kuntz, Leah Cico, Ava Cico, and Jace Cico.
