Irene A. Wysocki (nee Michael), 86, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022 after a lengthy illness.
She was born on April 7, 1935 in Lorain, where she grew up. After graduating from St. Mary's she met Joe Wysocki, whom she was married to for 65 years. In 1965 they moved their young family to Vermilion, where Irene resided for 57 years.
Irene was a homemaker and the best mom in the world. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion and enjoyed traveling to casinos from Vegas to Atlantic City and all points in between, watching General Hospital, pizza and a cold beer, and meeting new people. But more than anything, Irene enjoyed spending time with her family. One of her greatest pleasures was having everyone at the house, talking, laughing and eating, while she soaked it all in.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Linda (Clyde) Kunkle of Vermilion, Michelle (Phil) Dean of Sellersburg, IN, and Kristine (Carl) Amato of Rocky River, OH; grandson, Alexander Drake of Cleveland; granddaughter, Rachel Drake of Cleveland; sister, Therese Kuznar of Avon, OH, and brother, Larry (Sue) Michael of North Olmsted.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Wysocki; parents, Charles and Victoria (nee Beedy) Michael; and brothers, Jerry and Gene Michael.
A private memorial service will be held.
