Obituary of Jonathan Halliday

Jonathan Halliday, 41, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born February 11, 1980 in Cincinnati, OH and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 27 years, moving from Euclid. Jonathan had worked various jobs throughout his career, but most recently he built displays for surrounding area Home Depots. Jonathan was active with the Friends of Harbour Town and loved working with and advising the young people at the Haunted School House. He enjoyed building the props and helping with the makeup at the haunted school house every year. He also enjoyed wood working, camping, photography, and various handyman work. He is survived by his parents, Kirk and Stephanie (nee Varanese) Halliday of Vermilion; daughter, Savannah Kefover of Elyria; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Maria Therese Halliday; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Varanese; and paternal grandparents, Robert and Margaret Halliday; and his step grandmother, Helen Halliday. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11 am at the funeral home. Graveside service will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Rd., Chardon, OH 44024.
