
Obituary of Theodore Romanski
Theodore A. "Ted" Romanski, 85, of Lorain, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at The Inn at Apple Ridge, Richfield, after lengthy illness.
He was born April 18, 1936, in Mansfield and had been a Lorain resident for most of his life. He spent many winters in Dunedin, FL.
Theodore was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War.
Ted worked as an Electrical Designer for 23 years for U.S. Steel retiring in 2000. He also did freelance electrical estimating.
He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Lorain and attended St. Peter Parish, Lorain. He was a member of the Lorain V.F.W., IAV, the Knights of Columbus and the Amherst Eagles. He was past president of the Lorain Toast Maskers Organization, a member of Beaver Park Yacht Club, the Polish Fishermen's Club, the Lorain Rifle and Pistol Club, the Black River Historical Society and R.S.V.P. (Retired Senior Volunteer Program). He enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, gardening, hunting, woodworking, reading and was a lover of cats and supporter of various animal and nature organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Janet (nee Croskey) Romanski; daughter, Marie (Erik) Shamberger of Medina; son-in-law, Todd Becker of Texas; 6 stepchildren; grandchildren, Connor Shamberger, Collin (Annaliese Hribar) Shamberger, and Samantha Becker; great grandchildren, Ivy, Lila, Nova; and brother, Ronald (Dolores) Romanski of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Catherine (nee Dorinski) Romanski; his first wife, Lillian (nee Rosso) Romanski; daughter, and daughter, Renee Ann Becker.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 at 10 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 W. 15th Strret Lorain, OH 44052. Private interment will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
