Obituary of Marcia Hershey

Marcia Hershey (nee Maglott), 82, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born March 6, 1939 in Lorain, OH and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 45 years moving from Olmstead Falls, OH. Marcia worked for Vermilion High School for 26 years as an Assistant Principal and Principal retiring in 1994. She was a member of Church on the North Coast in Lorain. Following retirement, she worked for the Salvation Army in Vermilion and taught Bible study. She used her knitting skills to create garments to donate to World Vision. She enjoyed knitting, boating, taking family vacations, and time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Jayne Miller of Delaware, OH and Lisa (Bruce) Buchanan of Vermilion; grandchildren, Wesley, Grayson,and Lucie Miller, Nate, Josh, and Luke Buchanan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Hershey; infant daughter, Melissa Jayne Hershey; and parents, John and Grace (Spayde) Maglott. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 11 am until the time of service at 12 noon at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Interment will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park, Mansfield at a later date.
