Obituary of Arthur Greenless

Arthur Edward Greenless, 92, residing in Milan, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Parkvue Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.


Art was born the 1st Easter baby of Cheboygan, Michigan on April 2, 1929 to Arthur and Tena (nee Wilcox) Greenless. Raised in Cheboygan, MI until Art joined the Army AirForce and was stationed in England. There he met the love of his life, Jean Culshaw, they married in Leigh, Lancashire England on January 13th, 1951. They have been married for 71 years.


Art was then stationed in Utah to finish serving with the Army Air Force. After moving to Lorain and later settling in Vermilion, Art went on to retire from the Lorain Ford Plant as a spray painter. Later in life he made the move to Milan to be closer to his family.


He was a member of the Eight Ball Dance Club and he was a charter member and life member of AMVETS Post #22, Vermilion. He loved hunting and playing cards. Helping anyone in need was important to Art as he donated many gallons of blood and platelets. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him much joy. He housed many pets through the years and he loved each and every one of them.


Arthur is survived by his wife, Jean (nee Culshaw) Greenless; daughter, Julia (Brian) Deering of Monroeville; 6 grandchildren, Kris (Melanie) Deering of Monroeville, Bradley (Lindsay) Deering of Columbus, Keith (Ashley) Deering of Sandusky, Leigh-Anne (Daryl) Pena of Monroeville, Cory Greenless and Crystal Greenless both of Florida; 13 great grandchildren, Parker, Carter, Tucker, Poppy, Sawyer, Landon, Hayleigh, Ella, Aiden, Ariyanna, James, Alea and Kingsley; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.


In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his son, James Arthur Greenless; brothers, Cecil and Darrel Greenless; great grandchild, Spyder Deering; and lifelong friend Hubert Marcum.


The family will receive friends on Sunday March 27, 2022 from 2:00 pm until the time of a Military Honors Service, presented by the Vermilion Veterans Council, at 5:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The family asks that masks are worn. Private family services will be held. The Reverend Wendy Schindler-Chasney will officiate with interment at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
